In any political establishment , there are legitimate legal and peaceful means of expressing displeasure or disagreement of certain policies of the rulers.The individual or group of individual can voice his protest and attract the attention of the government in a non-violent manner, and then get his demands accepted.This has been the norm for centuries oh human history.
Yet, of late there has emerged a new 'method' adopted by some sections of society to make their voice heard.
It is the path of terror.Terrorism today is one of the biggest problems faced by the world today.Terrorists are a group of people who make use of an extreme form of violence to raise their demands and to get them fulfilled.
These people conduct their activities in a secret manner.They plant bombs at important or crowded places, or sometimes become suicide bombers and come with the bombs themselves. They hijack planes or buses,take people hostage ,assassinate leaders and conduct mass killings.In the process along with their targets, these demons end up slaughtering innocent men, women and even children.
Almost all of the civilized world has today been a victim of terrorism at some point of time or the other.While the mighty United States had to face the 9/11 attacks,India continues to face regular attacks in many of her cities, including the brutal Mumbai attack of 26/11.Even cities like London,Madrid,Stockholm,Moscow and Paris have borne the brunt of terrorist attacks.The major organizations that indulge in terorist activities are Al-Qaeda,Lashkar, LTTE and many others.
So what is the way out? Is there any solution to this menace?Well, as we continue to search for an answer to this question,the first thing we can do is to defend ourselves from further attacks.each country needs to strengthen its defence forces, police and judicial system and intelligence.We need to fortify our borders and constantly monitor them for any infiltration.Police and the public alike, should be vigilant about any anti-social activity in the neighborhood.Laws must be made more stringent and the judicial process must be efficient so that anybody before committing a crime should think about the consequences of his actions.At a global level, countries must unite to share intelligence and isolate those nations who support the terrorists.
Last but not the least, governments should sincerely look into the demands of the opposing group and bring them to the discussion table .It must work for the upliftment of the poor because it is the poorest sections who out of frustration often turn towards violence.
If both governments and people all over the world show genuine sense of purpose and desire, then one day we can surely uproot this evil of terrorism from the world.

My role model in life
Everyone of us has a role model in life.A person whom we respect ,admire ,look up to and aspire to be like.It could be someone in the family who has impressed us since childhood. Or it could be a famous personality whose thoughts and actions influenced us. Whatever the case, such a role model plays a vital role in forming our beliefs and shaping our future.
My role model is none other that tennis star Roger Federer.Federer is a record 16-time Grand slam champion.He was world no. 1 for a record 237 consecutive weeks.He is considered by experts,fans and critics all over the world as the greatest tennis player the world has ever seen.
Well, great players have been there in every sport.Pele in football, Bradman in cricket and Tiger woods in golf, just to name a few. Then what is it that makes Roger Federer so special ?To find the answer, one just needs to follow his career path, and his life so far.
There are certain qualities in this man, that makes him stand apart from the crowd.First and foremost ,it is his achievements in the game of tennis. No single player in world tennis has ever dominated the game in the manner Federer did, in the period from around 2003 to 2009.He went on from winning one Grand Slam to another,and lapping up all the major world titles in between.In this age of fierce competition and cutting edge technology,to stay no. 1 and dominate the game for so long is simply unimaginable. But Federer did that, thus showcasing the qualities of greatness and superiority over one's competition.
More than his victories, it is the manner in which he dominates the game and just rolls over his opposition that inspires me.At one point of time, all the other top players in the world, just gave up competing for the top spot.They hailed 'King Roger' as the greatest and were content on fighting for the second spot.Federer has inspired me to take on new challenges, to push the envelope,to try my best and be a leader in whatever I do.
Finally, I also admire his humility and politeness, and the way he accepts defeat gracefully and respects his opponents.I have learnt from him to keep cool in victory and defeat, to take setbacks in my stride,to try to remain the best and at the same time give respect to your opponents.To remain humble in victory , and graceful in defeat is a trait have fully imbibed in my life.
I feel lucky to be living in the same generation as this great man so that I can observe him achieving one milestone to another, and try to emulate the same in my own life.

Man,by instinct,wants companionship as man is a social animal.Man meets numerous people in his journey through life but he does not make friends with all of them.This so happens because the essential condition of friendship is that there should be affinity of temperament,tastes and mind.Only the few in whom man discovers this affinity,he considers worth making friends with and such persons make a lasting niche in our life.
Sam is my friend.He has a charming personality and bears a good moral character.He possesses pleasing manners.He has been brought up in a congenial and healthy environment. Sam is a very obedient to both his parents and teachers.He respects all the elderly people and loves those who are younger to him.
Sam stands first in his class and all the teachers love him and admire him for his abilities.He as a very strong command over spoken and written English.He is a fine orator and can speak on any topic extempore.

autobiography of a car.
I am Jetta,a car manufactured by Volkswagen.I have just been shipped from the facory to the dealer's showroom.Here I will be kept on display till some happy customer comes and buys me.
From where did it all start? Ah, yes I remember.MY Company Volkswagen is a German automaking giant.As everybody knows, the Germans are renowned for their efficiency ,committment to quality and passion for building exciting and innovative products.Any product that comes from Germany is valued and admired for it's quality all over the world.My cousins at Audi too, would surely agree.So I too, was conceived in the German plant a few years back.But I was brought into the world , or as you call it,manufactured in an Indian company.Indians are known for their love and affection, so you can imagine the care and attention I got while I was being made in the factory.I could see tears in the eyes of my engineer parents, while seeing me off to the showroom.
India has one of the world's largest automobile markets, and there is a lot of competition from rival cars.But I am no pushover.I have a sturdy engine which can challenge the best in business.My power steering and automatic transmission make for enjoyable driving.For safety, I have airbags fitted in me,and for comfort I provide soft seats and a lot of foot space.I also have a special climate control system.
But above all, what makes me most desirable is my looks and style.My specially designed head and tail lights would have any car enthusiast fall for me.I am available in thre glitzy colours, black,white and silver.
But there are only two things that I fear. One is the bad condition of roads in India. Secondly , I shudder at the thought that some irresponsible fellow who drives roughly and would not take proper care of me,would come to buy me.
Alas, it seems somebody has agreed to buy me. He looks like a rich businessman and his manners are pleasing.This gives me two reasons to cheer.One, I might get to live in the city and enjoy good roads. Secondly the chap would take good care of me. Hurray! I'm so happy..

Computers have become so much an integral part of the modern age, that we also call thiss period as the computer age.
In the initial years, the computer was a huge, and complex machine that was used for difficult work like performing calculations on raw data and procesing bulk information.This was mainly used in defence and scientific research.Then came the internet. With the arrival of the world wide web,the popularly of computers exceeded all conceivable limits.The invention of the e-mail and birth of efficient search engines further popularized the net.Today computers are an indispensable part of human life. They find their application in all spheres of human activity, ranging from building rockets to exchanging messages.Today, we use computers to store and manage data about people and companies, to diagnose and cure diseases,to book tickets,to teach , to gather information about anything under the sun,to create animation movies and produce special effects,to provide quicker and better quality service to customer in business,to communicate with people anywhere in the world using email, chatting or video-conferencing.
The efficiency and versatility of computers has led to the rise of a new sector called the information technology (IT) industry.The IT revolution took birth in the Silicon Valley in U.S.A, but later spread out to all parts of the world.There are thousands of software development companies today ,in which young engineers work hard to build software products or provide high quality software services to client businesses all over the world.This industry provides employment to millions of people and keep adding millions every year.The IT industry has been instrumental in creating wealth and opportunities for many developing countries like India and China.

Hostel life
For most adults, be it bachelors, married people or old folks, the best years of their lives would have been their hostel lives.Hostel life is 'the ideal life', where we are free from Parental pressures and disciplining, and there is no sibling rivalry .It sis almost as if we grow a pair of wings, and are ready to fly high like birds, to the live the life of our dreams
There are many positives to living in a hostel.We need to take care of our own affairs, manage our own stuff,take our own decisions and so on.This creates a sense of responsibility in us at a relatively early stage, as compared to day scholars who would still be nestled in the warmth of parental care.Also, for those having a disturbed home atmosphere, staying in a hostel comes as a blessing in disguise as it keeps them away from all the trouble and lets them focus on more important things, especially studies.
From an academic perspective also, staying in a hostel proves to be advantageous.We are far removed from the day-to day distractions and other household responsibilities at home.This gives us a lot of time to spend o studies, and secure better grades.Besides studies, hostel life provides us many opportunities to take part in extra-curricular activities, lie arts and sports.In most colleges, it is the hostel inmates who take up active roles in organizing events, paticipating in elections etc. By getting involved in all these activities, we develop valuable qualities like responsibility, dedication, hard work and problem solving skills, which would stand us in great stead for our future corporate lives.
But hostel life has its own share of dangers too.Freedom from parental control is a good thing, but only if it is used properly.Students , especially those who have had to live in a highly restricted environment , suddenly cherish the newly found fredom of a hostel.Their only aim would be enjoy. These people often lose sight of what is right or wrong, and end up with disastrous consequences.Some of them are even mislead into drugs,alcohol etc.Also if the gang we belong to likes to splurge and hang out all the time, we too might be misguided .This would take away our focus from the most important objective, which is to study.Apart from this, hostel life has got other disadvantages like bad food, dirty surroundings and lack of proper facilities.
Thus it is up to the individual to make a choice whether to live in a hostel or not.Moreover , if he decides to experience hostel life, he must be determined to experience it responsibly, in a way that would only benefit him in his later years.

A Visit to a Historical place
In India , we can get to see a lot of historical places.These historical places are of much educational and historical value.It is therefore very important for students to visit atleast a few of them.
Delhi , the capital of India is a place of great historical value.Within Delhi, there are several such places to visit, like the Qutab Minar,Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb etc.Last Sunday , the principal of our school arranged a trip for the senior students to visit the Red Fort.Most of the students had already visited the place, but such was its attraction that they wanted to visit it again.
The Red Fort is a 17th century fort complex constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the walled city of Old Delhi. It served as the capital of the Mughals until 1857, when Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was exiled by the British Indian government. The British used it as a military camp until India was made independent in 1947. It is now a popular tourist site, as well as a powerful symbol of India's sovereignty: the Prime Minister of India raises the flag of India on the ramparts of the Lahori Gate of the fort complex every year on Independence Day. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007
We reached the school at 8a.m in the morning.By 8.30 we set out from school in our school bus, and reached the Red Fort by 9a.m. At first sight itself, we were bowled over by this majestic structure.
The walls of the fort are smoothly dressed, articulated by heavy string-courses along the upper section. They open at two major gates, the Delhi and the Lahore gates. The Lahore Gate is the main entrance; it leads to a long covered bazaar street, the Chatta Chowk, whose walls are lined with stalls for shops.he southern end of this street is the Delhi Gate.
Ther are many important buildings and sructures within the red fort premises.Beyond the Delhi gate is another, larger open space, which originally served as the courtyard of the Diwan-i-Aam, the large pavilion for public imperial audiences with an ornate throne-balcony (jharokha) for the emperor. The columns were painted in gold and there was a gold and silver railing separating the throne from the public.
The pavilions are connected by a continuous water channel, known as the Nahr-i-Behisht, or the "Stream of Paradise", that runs through the centre of each pavilion. The water is drawn from the river Yamuna, from a tower, the Shah Burj, at the north-eastern corner of the fort.
Then we went to the 'Diwan-e-Khas',the hall of private audience where only select persons could meet the king.
Finally we went to the War Memorial museum where weapons used in the First World War are exhibited.
By noon , we had completed the tour of Red Fort and started our return journey back to school. It was really an unforgettable experience, which apart from being intellectuaaly rewarding , gave us a glimpse of our countries proud history.
